Richard Pope



Life Story

Richard Pope, born in El Dorado, AR moved to Dallas at the age of 4 when his father took employment at Texas Instruments. He graduated from Berkner High School in Richardson in 1974. During his senior year at Berkner he was invited to a Christian concert where he accepted Christ and stated a completely new direction in life.

Richard attended Richland Jr. College where he studied Industrial Arts. After that he attended Fountain Gate Bible School for two years and later University of Texas Dallas. During the time in school Richard Played Bass Guitar in a Christian rock band which ministered to youth Groups and in coffee houses in the DFW area.

Richard Met his lovely wife Denise at a bible study and three years later they married. They have enjoyed 44 years of marriage and have 3 terrific sons. They also have 5 wonderful grandchildren, Sydney, Wyatt, Ella, Tayleigh and Noah which they spoil any chance they get.

Richard work as a General Contractor until 2008 when he moved full time to Pope Plumbing another company owned by Richard and Denise.

Over the years Richard has participated in several mission projects including a 4 week stay in Haiti building a new school and numerous outreaches in Ecuador. His Hobbies include hunting, fishing and learning new things.
